Spirals are often incorporated into Celtic designs which is the basis of the knot for the Spiral of Life. It has three spirals which represent life, death, and rebirth or in some cases they interpret it as man, woman, and child. This knot has been popular in Celtic tradition since 2500 B.C..
Three is a special number in Celtic religion because Druids believed three things, three worlds, three types of rebirth, and three types of knowledge.

Three is a special number in Celtic religion because Druids believed three things, three worlds, three types of rebirth, and three types of knowledge.
- Worlds: the world of happiness above this one (Heaven), the present world, and the world of misery below (Hell).
- Knowledge: Knowing the name of something, knowing it's cause, and knowing it's influence.
- Rebirth: Acquire knowledge, conquer all evil, and purify your soul
Native American SymbolismNative Americans deeply respected animals and nature, worshiping them and basing most of their lifestyle on them.
The Path of Life is represented in Native American Culture by what they call the "Man of the Maze" or the Hopi Maze. It shows a man entering a maze which represents birth, and the only way to go is by the Path of Life. You journey through the maze and it gives you happiness, sadness, adventure and obstacles. If you have beautified your path and mastered your fate, you reach the center of the symbol. At the center you look back on your path of Life and how you have beautified it with memories before the sun god blesses you and brings you to the next world. |
